... un uomo torna a casa per prendersi cura della vecchia madre affetta da alzheimer. Nel corpo della madre egli ritrova la cifra di una malattia da cui nulla sembra essere immune: la casa, la famiglia, il territorio, tutto è stato intaccato, avvelenato, corrotto fino alla deformità. Eppure, in quel “corpo” devastato c’è ancora qualcosa: contro ogni logica esso si ostina a vivere.
Storia, non narrazione; drammaturgia piuttosto, dunque voce. Alla musica il compito di definire lo spazio, l’ambiente, sia interno che esterno, e di dar conto, in termini prettamente musicali, di quella “malattia”.

Afropea goes over Afro-European music remarking more specifically those elements which merged in American jazz. The double bass comes back to Europe, to the bow and to its cantabile making the most of modern loop stations technology. Percussion departs from tradition fixing new sounds and rhythm. The vibraphone uses its own language which is actually very much a jazz one.
The trio present original music and arrangements of contemporary authors such as Joe Zawinul, Franco D’Andrea.
